    The Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at the University of Alberta invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in the area of Statistics. An appointment at a higher level may be possible for exceptional candidates. The Departments offers an excellent research environment with a normal teaching load of 2.5 courses per year. The successful candidate will establish his/her own research program, supervise graduate students, and teach Statistics at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
    Applicants are expected to have a PhD (or international equivalent) degree, demonstrated accomplishments and outstanding promise in research in an area of Statistical Sciences, as well as a strong commitment to graduate and undergraduate teaching. Research interests that align with those of the current faculty are an asset.
