SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Training:

  • Doctoral degree in Statistics (University of Wisconsin-Madison, 1989) with a minor in Mathematics; specialized in the design and analysis of repeated measurement and longitudinal experiments, multivariate methods, regression theory, and time series analysis.
  • Directed the Statistical Consulting Center at the University of Iowa (1990-1992). Taught statistical methodologies through lectures and seminars.
  • Post-Doctoral training in Health Services Research with Dr. Leslie Roos (1993-1994).

Research and Collaborations:

  • Investigated various health policy issues such as inappropriate use of acute care hospitals and developed needs-based funding methodology and socio-economic risk index for Manitoba physician service areas.
  • Involved in many grant writings, some of which resulted in the highest ratings.
  • Collaborated successfully with a wide range of research scientists (dentists, nurses, MDs, epidemiologists, sociologists, psychologists, etc)
