Statistics 235

  1. The labs in Stat 235 will start on Wednesday, January 9, 2019. The 80 minutes lab sessions will be held once a week in the campus labs. You will be using Microsoft Excel in the labs. No previous experience with Excel is required.

  2. The Web site contains all lab materials to be used in Stat 235. There is no hard-copy manual available. The program Acrobat Reader is required to view and print these instructional materials.

  3. You are expected to keep a backup of your lab work both on your personal portable storage device (USB Flash drive, zip drive) and in your home directory on AICT's campus file system (called AFS). Using USB or zip drive only may lead to loss of data when the remote storage device is damaged or corrupted; you will not be excused in this case! In order to access your AFS home directory, you will have to enter your Campus Computing ID (CCID) and your password.

  4. The Introductory Lab: Excel 2007 and Tools for Statistical Analysis will be discussed In the first lab session. You will learn the basic features of Microsoft Excel that are essential for the labs. If you don’t have the manual, you may use the instructions available on the web. The instructions are very detailed and self-explanatory. The lab instructor will be on duty to provide assistance when requested. The students are not required to submit any work in the lab session.
