Statistics 235


  1. The labs in Stat 235 will start on Wednesday, May 9 (D1 and D2) and Friday, May 11 (D3 and D4). The 80 minute lab sessions will be held once a week on Wednesday in the campus labs. Each student should be registered in a lab section corresponding to their lecture group. You will be using Microsoft Excel 2010 in the labs. No previous experience with Excel is required.

  2. The Web site contains all lab materials to be used in Stat 235. There is no hard-copy manual available.

  3. You should be using your GPU account to keep a backup of your work on the AICT FTP server. Using a portable storage device likeUSB Flash drive or zip drive may lead to loss of data when the disk is damaged or corrupted. In order to access the server, you will have to enter your AICT Computing ID and your password. Bring your AICT Computing ID and your password to your lab sessions.

  4. The Introductory Lab: Doing Statistics with Excel will be discussed In the first lab session. You will learn the basic features of Microsoft Excel that are essential for the labs. The lab instructions are very detailed and self-explanatory. The lab instructor will be on duty to provide assistance when requested. The students are not required to submit any work in the lab session.
