Instructors: Dealing with Complaints

1. Students are expected to get familiar with the solutions to the lab assignment and marking schema posted on Statistical Laboratories web site before they request you remark their lab assignment.  Please make your students aware of the rule at the beginning of the term.  At the same time strongly encourage your students to discuss unclear parts of the solutions with you.
2. While discussing the student’s answers, treat the student with respect. Be friendly but confident. Never ridicule the student’s answers.
3. In case there is a disagreement between student and lab instructor regarding marking, student may appeal the lab instructor’s decision to the lab coordinator.
