Mrs. Lydia Schmuland
A cloud of sorrow visited the home of Mr. Rudolph Schmuland and community
when it was learned that his beloved wife Lydia Schmuland, aged 40, passed away
at the Wetaskiwin Hospital, nine days after an operation for appendicitis.
The funeral procession proceeded from her late home to St. John's
Evangelical church, five miles west of Wetaskiwin,
where the funeral service was conducted by Rev. H.G.H. Klingbeil, who
spoke words of consolation from Phil. 1:21, "For me to live is Christ
and to die is gain." After the service the deceased was laid to her
earthly rest in St. John's Evangelical Lutheran cemetery. The floral
contributions were beautiful and many. The funeral was well attended.
Being true to Christ all her life, we trust that she passed away to be with
Jesus in Heaven. Her last words were "Now I can pass away in peace."
For her to live was Christ, and to die was gain to her.
