Hornbeck Trails conditions update December 1, 2017:  The Hornbeck Trails have received 4 cms of new snow in the past week – just enough on top of the base to groom and trackset at least some of the trails.  At least 10 kms will be done for this weekend, but the snow cover is thin.  Skiers should expect rough sections and protruding twigs.  The parking lot and the warmup shelter are open.

It has been snowing all day so some hopeful signs here in Red Deer. A respectable skied- in loop is now ready around the perimeter of the downtown Barrett Park. Depending on how much snow fall we get, we may have the Great Chief Park and basic Heritage Ranch trails up and running on Friday or Saturday.
